  2. Classic children’s book making its stage premier 

    The classic children’s book Dear Zoo,by author and illustrator Rod Campbell, is brought to life at The Core at Corby Cube on Sunday 8 and Monday 9 April

    The best-selling lift-the-flap book has delighted generations of young readers since it was first published in 1982 and has sold more than eight million copies worldwide.

    Rod Campbell is the master of interactive storytelling and an expert in early learning for pre-schoolers. As a trusted household name, his books have stood the test of time and continue to be a staple addition to the family bookshelf and a popular choice for early years’ teachers. The creator of more than 200 books for children, his unique ability to be both fun and reassuring encourages children to discover and delight in the world around them.

    An inclusive and accessible performance for young children, their families and carers

    This spring, the award-winning Taking Flight Theatre Company are bringing the exceptional story of You’ve Got Dragons to The Core at Corby Cube on Thursday 26 April.

    Lots of people get them; bad dreams, swirly tummy, feeling prickly. And sometimes they make you feel alone. So, what can a young child with a bad case of the dragons do?

    Based on the children’s book by Kathryn Cave, You’ve Got Dragonsis a delightful tale for young children, their families and carers. A fully accessible, intergenerational show featuring creative captioning, British Sign Language and audio description, it is a treat for all the family. With live, original music, this highly visual, sensitive production is a humorous and touching exploration of the dragons we all face.

    Four terrific tales – one super show!

    Another firm favourite from the Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler books, Tiddler And Other Terrific Tales comes to The Core at Corby Cube on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 May.

    Is Tiddler telling the truth? Will Monkey find his Mummy? Will George The Giant make lots of friends?

    Can the old lady really squash and squeeze all those animals in?

    Under the sea, out on the farm and into the jungle, these terrific tales are woven together with live music, puppetry and a whole host of colourful characters from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s best-loved titles: Tiddler, Monkey Puzzle, The Smartest Giant In Town and A Squash And A Squeeze.  Funky moves, toe tapping tunes and giggles are guaranteed!

    This delightful production is brought to Corby by the team behind Stick Man Live, adapted from the best-selling books of Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler, creators of The Gruffalo and The Snail And The Whale.
